UNDERCARRIAGE AND FLOOR
The metal supports of undercarriage had rusted through the years and the floor was badly damaged from chainsaw fluid, Grease spills and Organic Fertilizers used in my Landscape Business. You do NOT want to know what 8 years of organic fertilizer baking in hot sun of trailer smells like! Whew!
We used metal brushes to remove rust and treated with POR-15 which has a label that states DO NOT GET ON SKIN...so, 3 WEEKS after getting it on my hands, it was still there! Lesson learned- gloves next time!
We covered the bottom of undercarriage with a rigid plastic (no driving over boulders anymore, darnit!) and insulated floor before putting in new floorboards.
